Come join in the International Day of Peace Celebration at Buttonwood Park in Yardley, Pa. The Second Annual Interfaith Community of Lower Bucks Peace Award will be given to Maria Armington.Maria Armington – Is the current chair of the Human Relations Council and lives in lower Bucks where she is a diversity consultant. She was part of Interracial Harmony and then moved on to the Human Relations Council and Peace Center. Maria deserves to be given this award because she has been involved in the work of healing racism, peacemaking and celebrating diversity for as long as she’s lived here. Maria has been connected to the Peace Center and has provided trainings to many non-profit organizations about how to handle discrimination and how to prevent it. She cares deeply about the issues of immigration reform, discrimination of any kind and believes strongly that we are all one family. Maria will be presented her award between 12:30 and 1:00pm. The event is scheduled to run from 12 noon to 6:00pm and include the dedication of a peace pole in Yardley and a vegan potluck
