February 11, 2016…. The Interfaith Community of Lower Bucks (ICLB) will be hosting an Afternoon of Light and Sound program presented by local members of Eckankar, Religion of the Light and Sound of God on Saturday, March 19th , 2016 from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm at the Fallsington Friends Meeting House located at 9300 New Falls Road, Fallsington, PA. This event is part of the ICLB’s Sharing Our Faith series which is designed to educate and bring together members of different faith traditions in our community. Prior Sharing Our Faith events were held at the Buddhist Sangha, a celebration of Ramadan at the Zubaida Foundation, and most recently, a Friday night Shabbat dinner held at Kol Emet synagogue.

The name Eckankar means “Co-Worker with God.” Eckankar believes it is the destiny of each Soul to experience God and serve all life. ECK is another word for the Life Force or Holy Spirit, which can be experienced as inner Light and Sound. It is also known as the Audible Life Stream. Eckankar gives practical ways for people to have real spiritual experiences—even the ultimate experience of God realization—in this very lifetime.  This is made possible through the daily practice of spiritual exercises or contemplations to directly experience the journey of Soul.

The program for the day will feature: a brief introduction to the basic beliefs of Eckankar. There will also be an optional opportunity to participate in a spiritual exercise called the HU, a love song to God. HU is an ancient name for God that when sung can help individuals find inner peace and open their consciousness to the vast inner worlds to explore.

The day will also feature a panel presentation called “Past Lives, Dreams and Soul Travel”, which are all ways we can actively explore the inner worlds. Participants will share personal experiences and stories, and how the insights they have gained through these experiences have helped them in their daily lives. This will be followed by an active discussion as well as a question and answer portion. To round out the program, there will be live inspirational music. The afternoon will conclude with a Pot Luck dinner. Individuals may bring a dish to share, and are asked to provide an index card listing ingredients to honor dietary practices and needs. This event is FREE and open to the public.  ICLB Eckankar Event Flyer
